The actress, 27, was charged with reckless endangerment and attemped
tampering with physical evidence after allegedly throwing a marijuana
bong from the window of her 36th floor Manhattan apartment in May.
Bynes was arrested after building officials called police to complain
she was rolling a joint and smoking pot in the lobby, reports the
Associated Press. Officers went to her apartment where they say they
saw heavy smoke and a bong sitting on the kitchen counter. Prosecutors
say she tossed the bong out the window in front of the officers.
According to AP, Bynes did not speak during the hearing that lasted
mere minutes. Neither she nor her attorney, Gerald Shargel, spoke to
reporters outside court.
Bynes' next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 26.
